How it works

What to expect.

01

Free site visit

We quote lawn mowing on visit rather than online — the cost depends on lawn size, access, slope, edges and how much strimming is involved. A 10-minute visit gives us the info to price fairly first time. No commitment.

02

Biweekly schedule

Once you're on the round, visits happen every two weeks through the growing season (typically April to October). UK grass barely grows in winter, so the round pauses from late October until early April. No charge during the pause.

03

What we bring

Petrol rotary mower, edger, strimmer for awkward corners, and a leaf blower for paths and patios. We don't leave grass cuttings on hard surfaces — paths get blown clean before we go.

04

Pay per cut

Each visit is billed individually by GoCardless Direct Debit. No monthly fee, no minimum term, no cash on the day. If we skip a visit (rain, you ask us to, you're away), there's no charge for that visit.

The method

How we actually do it.

Lawn condition through the British summer is mostly about consistency, not equipment. The same lawn cut every two weeks at the right height stays healthy, dense and weed-resistant. Let the gap stretch to three or four weeks and it starts thinning out, weeds set in, and the next cut leaves yellow patches where long blades had been shading the lower stem. We cut to the season — slightly higher in midsummer drought, lower in spring and autumn — and we edge every visit because crisp edges make any lawn look 30% tidier without any extra mowing.

Common scenarios

When this service is the right fit.

Lawn over 8 inches tall

Tall, neglected lawns can't be cut to spec on a regular visit — they need a separate clearance pass first. See the garden clearance page for the reset service, then you can drop onto the regular round.

Pet waste

Please clear pet waste before we attend. We can't mow over it for hygiene reasons and won't be able to complete the visit if it's present.

Wet weather

Cutting a soaking lawn makes a mess and stresses the grass. Heavy rain pushes the visit back a day or two. We always cut on schedule again at the next slot.

You're going on holiday

No need to skip a visit just because you're away — the round continues, the lawn stays tidy for your return, and you're billed as normal per visit. If you'd rather we skip, just let us know.

FAQ

Good to know.

Most domestic lawns take 20–45 minutes including edging, strimming and blowing down. Larger gardens and complex boundaries take longer — quoted on the site visit.
No — we don't remove cuttings as part of regular mowing. We recommend either a council green waste bin or a compost bin/pile. For full waste removal, ask about the garden clearance service.
Weekly cuts are possible by arrangement in peak growing season, but biweekly is the right rhythm for most lawns most of the year. We'll suggest the right cadence on the site visit.
Autumn visits include normal lawn cutting plus path-clearing. A full leaf-blow of the whole garden is a separate add-on — flag it when booking and we'll quote on visit.
No — we focus on maintenance: mowing, edging, strimming, hedges, clearance, and the exterior-cleaning services. For design, planting and landscaping you'll want a specialist.
