What to expect.

Sides and front: on the regular round

Vertical glass panels (the sides and front of the conservatory) are included in the regular window cleaning round at £10 per visit. Cleaned the same way as the rest of your windows — water-fed pole, pure water, streak-free finish. Add them to your quote with one tick.

Roof: separate service

Conservatory roofs are a separate service, priced on visit. Access varies wildly (some are easy from the lawn, some need extension poles, some need extra care around old roof joints) and so does condition (a roof cleaned annually is very different to one cleaned for the first time in a decade). One site visit gives us what we need to quote.

Interior: separate service

Interior conservatory cleaning is again priced on visit. It's a slow, careful job — interior glass, glazing bars, the ceiling-side of polycarbonate or glass roofs, the frames, and the underside of any roof vents. Most homes need this once every couple of years rather than annually.

The method

How we actually do it.

Conservatory roofs need a careful hand — old polycarbonate can be brittle, glass roofs may sit on aged seals, and the wrong technique (pressure washing, brittle bristle brushes) can do real damage. We use the same water-fed pole and soft-bristle brush as the regular window round, dialled in for the angle and the surface. For old or fragile roofs we drop down the water pressure further and use a softer brush. We don't treat conservatory roofs as a "high-volume" service — every one is a careful single job.

Conservatory that hasn't been touched in years

First-clean rules apply — the roof and interior need significantly more time than an annual top-up, and we quote accordingly on the visit. After that first session you can drop onto an annual or biennial schedule.

Annual conservatory top-up

Most homes benefit from an annual roof clean (the sides are already on the regular window round). One spring visit keeps the roof from collecting a season's worth of pollen, leaves and bird mess.

Pre-sale clean

A bright, clean conservatory is one of the highest-impact features for property viewings. A single roof + interior clean a week before viewings can be the difference between "tired old conservatory" and "bright sun room".

Side and front windows are vertical glass — same surface, same technique, same time-per-pane as the rest of the windows on the regular round. Roofs are a fundamentally different job: different access, different condition, much more variation between properties. That's why roofs and interiors are quoted on visit while sides are a fixed line item.

Annually for most homes — usually in spring after the pollen season. Roofs under trees may need it twice a year. First-time cleans on long-neglected roofs take a separate longer slot and are priced accordingly.

Yes — interior cleaning is a separate add-on, priced on visit. It's slower and more careful work than the exterior, so usually booked once every 1–2 years rather than annually.

It can — pressure washing can crack old polycarbonate panels, lift seal beading on glass roofs, and force water through aged joints. We don't pressure-wash conservatories. The water-fed pole and soft brush is much gentler and gets the same result.

Yes — algae and moss are normal. The soft-wash method (gentle biocide + pure water rinse) lifts both without damaging the surface. Heavily moss-covered roofs may need a follow-up visit a few weeks later to remove any residue once it's fully died back.
