Gutter, Fascia & Soffit Cleaning.

External cleaning of gutter exteriors, fascias and soffits. Years of weathering, algae and grime washed off to make the front of your house look fresh again.

How it works

What to expect.

01

Site visit and quote

We come out, look at the property, work out length of fascia run, condition of the uPVC, height and access, and quote on visit. Most domestic homes are quoted on the spot.

02

Soft-wash method

We use a soft-wash system — a gentle biocide solution applied with a brush, left to dwell, then rinsed with pure water. No pressure washer, no harsh chemicals, no risk of forcing water behind the fascias or up under the roofline.

03

Streak-free dry-down

The pure-water rinse means no streaks as the uPVC dries — same principle as the window-cleaning round. We don't leave watermarks across the front of your house.

The method

How we actually do it.

uPVC fascias and soffits collect algae, lichen and atmospheric grime over the years. The green/black streaking you see down the underside of a roofline is mostly Gloeocapsa magma — a hardy algae that thrives on damp, north-facing surfaces. Pressure washing strips it off but risks blowing water up under the fascia into the soffit cavity, where it sits and rots the timber behind. The soft-wash method dissolves the algae chemically (with a mild biocide that's safe around plants and pets once diluted), then rinses with the same purified water we use on windows — leaving a clean, streak-free finish without the risk.

Common scenarios

When this service is the right fit.

Pre-sale curb appeal

Discoloured fascias age a house more than almost any other surface — and they're the first thing visible from the street. A fascia clean is one of the highest-impact, lowest-cost pre-sale tidy-ups for the front of your home.

North-facing or shaded properties

Algae thrives on damp surfaces that don't see much direct sun. North-facing fascias and properties shaded by trees often show green streaking even when the rest of the exterior is fine.

After re-roofing or extension work

Recent roof or extension work often leaves dust, lime, mortar splatter and footprints on adjacent uPVC. A clean once the builders are gone gets the new work and old work looking like a single house again.

FAQ

Good to know.

No — the biocide we use is mild, applied at low concentration, and rinses to safe levels with the pure-water dry-down. We use it daily on houses with established gardens. Rinse any leaves the solution lands on with the hose and they'll be fine.
Every 2–4 years for most properties. Heavily shaded or north-facing houses often need it sooner; sunny, exposed properties can sometimes go longer.
Algae, lichen and most weathering — yes, fully. Permanent oxidation marks on very old uPVC (chalky white patches where the surface has degraded) may not lift completely. We'll be honest on the site visit about what to expect.
Yes — the soft-wash method is gentle enough for painted timber and treated uPVC. Pressure washing isn't.
Pressure washing strips the algae fast but blows water up under the fascia into the soffit cavity, which can lead to rot in the roof timbers. Soft-wash is slower but safer for the building.
