Garden Clearance.

For lawns over 8 inches tall, neglected gardens, or one-off blitzes before getting back on a regular schedule. Priced separately from regular mowing.

How it works

What to expect.

01

Site visit and plan

Garden clearance is genuinely one-of-a-kind work — every job is different. The site visit lets us see what we're dealing with, agree what's in and out of scope (which plants to keep, which to clear, where the boundaries are), and quote fairly.

02

Single visit or staged work

Small clearances are done in one visit. Bigger jobs — a fully neglected garden, multiple seasons of overgrowth — usually take two or three sessions over a couple of weeks. We'll agree the approach on the visit.

03

Equipment

Mower, brushcutter, hand tools, occasional flail mower for serious overgrowth. We don't do tree felling, paving, or fence work — for those you want a landscaper.

The method

How we actually do it.

The first job on most clearances is a single high cut with a brushcutter or flail to bring everything down to a workable height. From there we can see what's actually there — buried beds, hidden paths, fence lines — and the second pass cuts to lawn height. Bulky waste (brambles, big clumps of grass, hedge cuttings) is bagged or hauled to a corner you nominate. We don't take garden waste away as standard — for jobs that need bulk removal we can arrange a separate skip or waste service, quoted alongside the main job.

Common scenarios

When this service is the right fit.

Inherited or neglected property

You've just moved in (or inherited) a property where the garden's been left for a season or more. One clearance pass gets it back to a state where regular mowing is possible — then you can drop onto a regular round.

End-of-tenancy or pre-sale tidy

Landlords with a vacated property or sellers preparing for viewings often want a one-off reset before the next stage. Quoted on visit, single payment, no ongoing commitment.

Restart before regular service

If you've let regular maintenance slide and the lawn's now too long to cut on a normal visit, a clearance gets things back on track. Many customers go straight onto our biweekly lawn round after the clearance.

One-off project

You're happy doing your own maintenance most of the time but want one big push to reset a corner of the garden. Equally welcome — no minimum size, no obligation to keep us around afterwards.

FAQ

Good to know.

Small clearances (one overgrown lawn, no other complications) are done in half a day. Full-garden clearances can take 2–3 sessions across a couple of weeks. Quoted on visit.
Not as standard — waste goes in your green bin, compost, or a corner you nominate. For jobs that need bulk removal we can arrange a separate skip or licensed waste service alongside the main quote.
Yes — heavy brambles and established ivy are normal clearance work. Japanese knotweed is a different matter (regulated, specialist work) and we don't handle it; we'll flag it if we spot it.
No — anything bigger than a thick shrub needs a tree surgeon. We can recommend local ones we know to be reliable.
No commitment at all. Plenty of customers use the clearance as a one-off. Equally, plenty drop onto the regular lawn round once their garden is back to a manageable state — completely your call.
